This is a spectacular evening bag by Whiting & Davis in their trademark gold bubble mesh. This bag has a gold chain strap with and kiss-lock clasp.
It is stamped on the metal inside frame, "Whiting & Davis Co, Made in USA".
The inside is lined in gold silk.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with some visible wear to the gold and some surface scratches on the metal clasp area--- noticeable upon close inspection- please see pics! The most visible clue of age and wear is the stitching on the inside lining- it has been restitched in some places with different colored thread. Pretty good over all for an 80+ year old purse, so please take that into account. Having said that, it has miles to go before it sleeps! Perfect for parties and nights on the town.
*The tag inside has the whiting Davis logo printed in blue, meaning that this bag is just after WWII.

Unfortunately the listing was inaccurate for this item, there was significantly more damage than listed and for that reason the item was very overpriced. Fortunately Robbyn was very nice about it and accepted my return, but I'm still out $25AUD for return postage because the seller was not upfront. Something to be aware of when buying from here.
